Committees are an integral part of our association’s activities. Committee members directly help us meet our goals, fulfill our mission and provide a unique opportunity to serve both our fellow members and the fire service community as a whole. As a committee member, you must be able to participate in conference calls, attend the annual meeting and complete individual and committee assignments. We will endeavor to assign the best qualified persons to handle the responsibilities and work involved. THANK YOU in advance for your continued support and interest in serving the SEAFC.

Constitution and ByLaws Committee: Annually review the Constitution, Bylaws & Policies with the Board of Officers, Executive Director and Association members to ensure the documents represent the AssociationĀfs formal structure and operational policies.

Professional Development Committee: Research education programs that can be distributed to our membership in appropriate ways throughout the year to keep them on the cutting edge of the fire service.

Audit Committee: Work with the Executive Director to secure the financial future of the Association and develop plans for future economic growth and diversity. Audit the finances of the Association by reviewing financial statements as presented by the Executive Director.

Membership Development: Develop plans to recruit new members and retain current members by working closely with the IAFC Membership Department and the SEAFC Board of Directors.

Communications Committee: Develop communication avenues to inform our membership of important fire service information and activities. Produce the SEAFC Leader newsletter

Nominations and Elections Committee: Review the credentials for individuals interested in running for elective office and prepare a complete list of qualified nominees. The Committee Chair will present the list of qualified nominees at the Annual Conference. This committee is also charged with determining the credentials of any and all members who desire to vote in any election.

Conference Committee: Organize and approve all aspects of the upcoming Annual Conference. This includes development of vendors, sponsorships, physical layout of the conference, conference timelines, events and programs.

Resolutions Committee: Approve and submit to the Association all resolutions pertaining to the business of the Association or on any subject affecting the welfare of the Association members. Any member desiring to present a resolution shall first refer same to the Resolutions Committee.
